Ginza neighbourhood guide

A short orientation to Ginza — how the district is laid out and what makes each street worth a wander.

Ginza neighbourhood guide

Ginza grew from a silver-mint district into Tokyo's most storied shopping quarter. Chūō-dōri is its main spine, lined with flagship stores, while the quieter side streets hide galleries, tiny bars and long-running coffee houses.

Ginza's main avenue

On weekend afternoons the central avenues close to traffic and become a pedestrian paradise. Start at the 4-chōme crossing, drift toward Ginza Six, and let the smaller lanes pull you off the main road.
